Hank Fm, Liza's Kitchen, and Ms. Suwannee River

Minus the confusion with the timing of it all... our interview and performances with Melissa this morning on 103.5 Hank fm were so much fun!!!! I nearly overslept.... Shhhh.... I must have hit my alarm to go off instead of snooze... which I haven't done in a LONG time. :) But that's the beauty of radio... Can you say up-do???

Melissa Miller and everyone at Hank Fm are so sweet! We performed 4 songs, talked a bunch, and she played it all during the drive time hour. Plus she is going to play the new record on Saturday as a "Pre-concert" for the show! That will be AWESOME!

We went to Liza's Kitchen for lunch today - our FAVORITE place to eat lunch here in PCB. Some of our friends that always come to our shows, Amber and Brittany, joined us for lunch. And then we rehearsed until 4am for our shows this weekend. We needed to brush up on the 4 hour show since we rehearsed it all in January, played one 4-hour gig... and then haven't played ANY of those songs since! Everything sounds really good and I am so excited about playing tomorrow night. It's gonna be a bit chili, but from what I hear, that hasn't affected the crowd one bit!

Live On 103.5 Hank Fm!!

Sooooo...

Tomorrow we are gonna be on the radio for ALL to hear!!! And you don't have to live in Panama City, Florida to tune in. :) They have live streaming on the website!!

We'll be on www.1035Hankfm.com at 11:00am Central Time with Melissa Miller. We'll play songs from the new record which is officially in production now, YAY!!!! And maybe you'll even hear sneak peaks of the new tracks... who knows. :)

Miguel will even be debuting my new Gold Tone Mando-tar which he has never played before. But the guys and I just got done rehearsing our acoustic versions of the songs, and it sounded so good!!! I LOVE having 3-part harmony back in my life. :)

Melissa is awesome and has been so great to us when we come down to play shows in PCB. And for those of you that do live in PCB or are near enough to make the trip... we'll be at Spinnaker Friday and Saturday nights this weekend. Spring Break Season has just begun down here. So it should be a party!

Tim's a SUPERHERO!?!?!?

I love having so much family down here! We all ate at the largest Chinese buffet I have ever seen tonight. Mr. Don Howell, (my sister-in-law's Daddy) took us ALL out tonight!!!

This is 4 of my beautiful nieces and me!


I can't possibly begin to describe just how hot and humid it is down here. It's bad when you've sweat through your jeans BEFORE the first set... BEFORE you get under the lights... BEFORE you really do... well... anything.
I wanted to get an awesome pic of Tim's "Camaro" belt buckle... but instead we reveal his true identity. It's SUPER TIM to save the day, with his awesome powers on the bass. No. That's not sweat on his shirt. It's a "T". Because he's just that awesome.


A guy from Columbia (my home town) who has seen us at Sam Hill's showed up tonight!

Spring Break Match Made In Heaven

Couples that meet randomly on spring break in Panama City actually DO last sometimes!!! :) The proof was tonight at Schooners.

Chad and Amanda got married tonight on the beach and then they had their reception at Schooner's. I think tonight was the first time I have ever eaten wedding cake on a break during a show! ; ) They were so sweet.


Ray Tate and Renea Tate Coker grew up with my sister, Stephanie, and they saw my name on the poster for Schooners earlier in the day. They came back to the show tonight, and we figured out that we hadn't seen each other since I was 5 years old!


We had some other Columbia, Tn natives that showed up and I also met a fellow BGA Alum tonight! What a small world.

I leave you with Blair, the bachelorette of the evening... she was on quite the scavenger hunt tonight. She had to find ALL kinds of crazy items.


Tomorrow we play the afternoon beach party. Woo hoo!!!

I Spilled The Sweet Tea

Well dangit!!!

I forgot my camera uploader thing a ma doogie. SO I can't upload any of the great pics from the weekend so far!!! I have a couple from my iphone from yesterday, though.

TONIGHT?? AMAZING. Hot, sweaty, full of rock, packed with people. The way it's supposed to be!

NO WRECKS ON THE WAY IN EITHER!!! YAY!!!!

I spilled sweet tea all over my jeans during dinner. It also spilled all over the set lists I had just written out.... which actually made them stick to the floor better and not blow away :)

But Jenn & AJ had to take Ella back to the band house after dinner, so Jenn brought me some extra jeans to change into after the first set. It made me SO happy!

You know what's funny, though? The conversation we were all having at the band house was about wardrobe changes in shows. We were talking about how it's not very "rockstar" to change your wardrobe a bunch of times in a show. I mean, the girl in me thinks that would be so fun. Wear ball gowns for the big ballads... crazy rockstar outfits for the more uptempo ones... But I have to agree with the guys on this one. I mean, that's what the award shows are for. I am REALLY girlie. I'll never get away from wanting to curl my hair, wear dramatic eye make-up, and over-the-top ballgowns when I can get away with it. But for my regular shows? Yeah... one outfit. The show isn't about what I am wearing... it's about the music. As long as I wear something that allows me to move my hips back and forth and dig my heels into the ground... I am good to go! Tom Petty wouldn't change outfits... or Steven Tyler... or Mick Jagger...

Anyway. I thought it really funny that we had JUST talked about that... and then I go changing jeans for a Spinnaker show. I mean, I had a valid reason, but it seemed quite ironic to me. :)

May I just interject that the morning news just came on?? :) Yeah... this schedule is hilarious.

We had lots of repeat customers tonight - people from Macon Georgia, and people who have seen us previous times at Spinnaker. I had a blast onstage tonight. I let loose even more than normal and the crowd was incredible. I sure do love my job. I haven't felt that sweaty/rockstar in a while. I think it came with the change of clothes :) After I felt comfortable? I let it all go.

Can't wait to see what tomorrow is like!

Weird Signage

A few weeks ago someone asked at a show, "What is the strangest thing you have ever signed?"

I found myself puzzled... and laughing :)

I rattled off a few of the stranger ones I could think of... but I kept thinking of more things later. So I went through a bunch of photos and was reminded of quite a few moments and shows that made me laugh all over again. So I wanted to share!

Let me interject something I just remembered. There were 2 guys at the Matterhorn that had me sign little wallet sized photos of their own kids. Hmmm. Not sure why... They didn't want me to address them TO the kids... just wanted my signature on the back.

And then there was the time when a guy at a show REALLY wanted Bridget to sign the cd... Bridget is a good friend of mine and Hootie's girlfriend.... she didn't sing or play on the cd, but dude was adamant that she sign it! Classic!

Buckeye fans are CRAZY y'all. He had us sign an OSU flag and then INSISTED that we take it with us. Not sure why we needed to sign it if we were the ones who were gonna look at it. That thing stayed in the Suburban until it was driving Hootie nuts. We finally had to take it out because Hootie couldn't take the pressure anymore. "Hang on Sloopy" was on permanent repeat in his head...


I had to sign the shirt for a "bachelor" who was in Panama City beach at our show. I had to sign it and give him instructions for something to do during the evening - I ended up writing "pick up a fiddle player"


And he did!


And I'll close with this one cause it made me feel like a rockstar... Scott Holt, the guys from Gov't Mule, and well... just a whole lot of really cool people + me signed this guitar. I don't remember how much it was auctioned off for - but it was to raise money to buy Christmas presents for children in Maury County. So it was really cool.


My job is so fun.

Our Day off in Dallas

Can I just say that I love my band? Cause I do. Even though they made fun of me the whole way home in the Suburban.... I was laughing so hard I was crying though, so I really can't complain....

We had a really good day off today in Dallas, which was very nice after a bit of a rough evening last night.
We hung out with Randy Peterson - our friend from "Beach TV" in Panama City this evening. We filmed a couple little interview spots with him at a studio in Dallas today and then his friends threw a big BBQ for us tonight, and ummm yeah... it was pretty delicious. They gave me all the left over cookies and brownies at the end of the night so I pretty much think they will be my best friends for life. :)

Notice the glow around my hair.... you know it's big when there's a haze coming off of it....
