Introducing the New Band Members!!

Sooo....

I have alluded to the fact that new guys were coming on board over the last little bit, but I haven't said much because there were no "final decisions" made.

Today, that has all changed!!!

We have known for a while now that David Newbould would be joining Team Stovall. David will be coming on board as an opening act/ rhythm guitar/ vocalist in the group! We are THRILLED to have such a talented guy along for the ride. :) He's a fantastic artist - singer/songwriter/guitar player/overall awesomeness and in fact... you should head on over to his website when you have the time and take a look at HIS stuff!!!

He originally hails from Canada (thus furthering the borders of this international Stovall band) but he recently made the move to Nashville from Austin, Texas. We even figured out that Dave Madden - my first keyboard player... plays keys for David in Austin!!! Oh what a small world it is!


And the the part we haven't known until today - our new bass player!!!
Introducing Zach Morse (no kids... not Zach Morris... though I'm a little TOO excited about introducing him to Mr. Belding) from Cheyenne, WY (a new state to grace the Stovall Team). Zach has a very rich, deep voice which I can't wait to hear more of. He's a killer bass player. And he's got crazy curly hair to DIE for! :)

We had spoken to Zach, gotten GREAT recommendations from friends about him, and stalked him a little on youtube. Shhhh. We had a great feeling about him, but you can't exactly offer someone a job without meeting them and playing with them first. Well... you can. But, you know. So we got together with everyone today, played through some songs, dug the vibe, offered him the job, and thus now we have a full band again!

Whew. I can't even begin to describe what an incredible feeling that is. New Van, new band, new sound system, new songs, new sets, new fiddles... Whoa. I didn't even realize all the newness until I just typed it out!

Miguel, James, and I couldn't be happier with how 2010 is starting!!! Let's keep it a'rollin!

Pigs And Peaches - Do I Have To Eat Them Together?

We had such a good time in Kennesaw last night! I LOVE playing at BBQ festivals because we get fed so well! You better believe this southern girl can eat up some pulled pork. :)

They set the "Guinness Book Of World Records: Largest Kickball Game" yesterday. How cool is that!?!?

So the Mayor of Kennesaw introduced me last night... ummm... that was REALLY cool.

Two of my Berklee girls came to the show, and I STILL can't believe it!!! These are two INCREDIBLY talented women. Nicole (on the left) is producing for all kinds of artists in Atlanta including Lisa's (on right)new album. I can't WAIT to get my hands on a copy of one. We used to do shows together at Berklee and they are both incredible singers. It was so cool to have them in the audience! I had to be on my A-game in front of singers like this!


I met my first "FrItalian Americanuk" (French Italian American Kanuk) That's what his girlfriend calls him... since he is an Italian from Canada (Montreal) living in America. :) Love it.

This one asked me to marry him. ADORABLE!!! I told him that my drummer had beat him to it, but if anything went south there, I'd be sure to give him a call ;)


Ciara ran my merch table and it helped me out SOOOOOO much. Thank you for everything girl!


And FINALLY I got to meet Tina (far right) from Acts Nashville, who booked me on this gig and MANY others! She's booked gigs for me for so long now, but we've never met!

Driving to Vermont

Today we have driven and driven and driven....

We had a minor detour when our GPS, Jeeves, (we have it set to the British voice) decided to try to route us through Canada AGAIN!!!! We had agreed on a route at the start of the trip, and for some odd reason, without notifying us, he decided to change our route to take us OUT OF THE COUNTRY. Why in the heck would a GPS that asks you if you want to take toll roads or not.... NOT ASK YOU IF YOU WANT TO CROSS INTERNATIONAL BORDERS!?!?! Plus, it was going to ADD hours onto the trip. So strange. Luckily, James noticed that we were a little too far north in Michigan than actually made sense. And we got back on track and only lost an hour and a half or two.

So we are still driving. We are going to stop in a little while around 3:30am or so. That way, we'll only have 6-7 hours left tomorrow.

Maybe on our way out of Vermont we'll have time to stop at the Ben and Jerry's factory. That would be yummy. And one of the best things ever.
