Random Thoughts in Bahrain

I laugh every time I see this picture. We stayed in a GORGEOUS hotel in downtown Bahrain - it was really nice... almost too nice. Every time we walked into the lobby we wanted to ask the front desk if we could trade in the Enormous Chandelier in the front hallway in order to get free internet. Internet cost $25 an hour. So while the chandelier is pretty - it serves no functional purpose and it's GOTTA be worth enough to get us all onto the inter-webz...


In Italy, they have fountains in the middle of roundabouts. In Bahrain... Camels.

Tailoring is BIG business. You think about the traditional clothing worn in the Middle East and it makes sense that tailoring would be a big deal there. It was kind of like Dunkin Donuts in the Northeast of the US - there was a tailor and sometimes two in every block in the Souq!


That ain't what Hardee's looks like in Columbia, Tn. *wink wink*
