The Dip Cone Dance

We played another show at the Beer Barrel Saloon tonight on the island that is Put-in-Bay. This place so great. It's entire existence is based on the income of the summer time... and the whole place is designed for vacation. The golf carts are my favorite. :)

I spent this evening (after the show) going on a stroll around the down town area. I found a little sandwich shop that was open, grabbed a bite and headed down to the water to sit and enjoy the perfect weather going on here. As I sat there peacefully eating my sandwich, watching golf carts, bicycles, walkers, and boats go by - I noticed glowing lights in the distance that read "Dairy Queen". Like a sleepwalker not in control of my own body, I all of a sudden found myself walking towards the glowing red and white lights.

It was maybe the best dip cone I have ever had. I walked along the pier as I ate... but I couldn't keep up with the melting. If you would like to see where all I walked tonight, just follow the trail of the sticky sidewalk. It was a full body effort: elbow up, booty sticking out, chin up, bent over - anything I could do not to drop it all over myself. :) And I finally just gave up on trying to clean up my hand. Instead I decided to act like a kid and let it drip all over me.... I mean ALLLLL over me.

I had to throw a bunch of it away (I know, sacrilege) but soon after I found a swing that was MADE for me. When I jumped up into it, my feet didn't touch the ground. Can I tell you how happy that makes me?? Normally they are intended for children (as they should be) but that makes it hard to swing when you grow above 3 feet tall! So yeah. I ate ice cream and swang in a park tonight. It was pretty much the best.

And tomorrow? I get to do what I love. And get paid. Again.

Life ain't all that bad, huh?

Peace. Love. Fiddle.

Hay : )

You must be a beautiful moth since you are so attracted to "glowing lights in the distance"

Please be careful when you come to Shady Grove though, all us clod hoppers are now wearing glowing lights in hopes of attracting you : ) : ) : )

The good news is we are all standing in the distance : ) : )
