Get Rid of Your Junk and Help Djibouti AND Our Soldiers

I ♥ our Soldiers!!!!

If you've been reading the blogs then you will remember the solider that said the US Military has offered to clean up the roads in Djibouti, and Djibouti said, "Sure... if you pay us..."

Well... even though that mentality may prevail over there (at least with Djibouti's leaders) it doesn't deter the hearts of our American soldiers! They see the people in Djibouti and want to do something to help - even though they are ALREADY doing so much for their own country.

That same soldier - Joshua, wrote me this message on facebook to help get the word out about his project.

Joshua writes:
"Hey, im kinda trying to do some stuff while im over here... you know, be all helpful and whatnot. lol. So if you could, please relay this message.

thanks

I'm asking everyone, to please, if POSSIBLE, send any of your or your children's old clothes. If you have ANYTHING to donate, you would be helping a great ...deal. Even if they are ugly clothes AND shoes, it would be greatly appreciated. Shoes are a scarce item as well. Please remember it's 120*F here, no winter clothes. lol. Also, maybe send some soccer balls or footballs or something. Somthing they can look forward to, and maybe be thankful for American's. May seem stupid to you, but you really could change these kids lives. Thank You So Much! :) Oh, and also, send adult clothes as well... if you were fat and got skinny, or skinny and got fat. or if they are just old clothes, send them. lol
Once Again, Thank you very much. -LJ

Isn't that incredible??? I love how you can see his sense of humor in that message.

So if you have been thinking about having a garage sale because of extra or older clothing... instead of all that work, why not box it up and send it to one of our own American Soldiers to help him with his personal mission of helping the people in Djibouti!

I'll remind you with a picture of what it looks like there...

These are people's homes surrounded by trash... so I am sure that anything you would like to send would be appreciated!!!

And also... just a thought... if you do get a box together... make sure you throw in something for Josh and his friends :) It can be as simple as a thank you note... or maybe an international calling card (Extremely valuable to our soldiers!), DVDs... get creative! Anything you might wish you had if you were stationed in Djibouti, Africa! You have no idea how much it means to those guys to know they're appreciated and thought of here at home.

But of course - the most important thing is to help out Josh on his quest! Get rid of stuff you no longer want, send something for the kids... it helps you, them, and our soldiers!!! Doesn't get much better than that!

Peace. Love. Fiddle.

We pray God will be with Joshua and he gets lots of neat stuff, and that very soon all the needy people in the world will have all the good things they need !!
