Musically Fulfilling Evening

What a musically wonderful evening!

Opening for Leon Russell tonight was every bit as excellent as I had hoped. It was weird to play a show with James and Panther in the audience :) but now Panther knows what it feels like every time I come to one of David's shows. He, David, and Miguel are always on stage and it's so funny to watch them from the audience perspective.

They weren't kidding when they told us that Leon's piano took up half the stage at 3rd and Lindsley so we'd have to do a stripped down version of the band. His piano is HUGE. Mamma said it looks like the back of their tv because it has so many cables run! :)

Leon had quite the entrance. I never knew that walking with a cane could look so rock and roll. He walks out with the music going strong, sits down at the piano and doesn't get up again until he has thoroughly and utterly rocked your face off. Plus, he and my Daddy had on the same shirt but in different colors. :)

After the show and talking to the crowd, we headed over to the American Bang show. I never thought we'd actually make it. They are a band that I JUST heard about this week - bought their cd, fell in love, and then realized that the cd had JUST been released! Tonight at Mercy Lounge was their cd release party. And we walked in RIGHT before they began.

I felt like I was witnessing everything that rock and roll should be. And I was so happy to be in that room tonight. If I were to make a prediction, I don't think I'll be able to see them in a room that small again ever. Especially not up close like we were!!!

I am musically fulfilled and ready for some sleeping. My dreams will have an excellent soundtrack tonight.

Peace. Love. Fiddle.

Hay : )

I wish I could have been there, but alas, right now there are too many mouths and minds to feed ( my moms mind needs feeding with my presence : )

Have you seen that little girl on Americas Got Talent, I could not believe she was for real but Howie said she is so it must be so.

I just hope that she doesn't blow out her vocal chords, and I also hope she'll start singing some stuff in addition to whatever that stuff she sings now is called, sort of Opera like.

If she's for real then she's an awesome miracle just like you !!
