Happy 100 Years to Granny!!!

My Sweet Precious, Darling, Pudding Pie, Pumpkin, Angel-face Granny is 100 today!!!

She used to do that when I was little :) String along a ridiculous amount of adjectives of admiration and sweet names all together into one. :) The ones above were her most commonly used. It's just not the same without her saying it, though. Granny's just have that way about them.

Poor thing. She's had such a hard time this week. She fell and broke her arm earlier in the week right below her shoulder... they can't put it in a cast or do surgery, and it is supposed to heal on it's own. But it's hard to maneuver when you're 100 and can't use almost an entire side of your body!

Granny was born in 1910. They don't even have cards that go that far back in Cracker Barrel!!! She is truly an inspiration. And her attitude (throughout this entire process of breaking her arm) just further emphasizes what an inspiration she is! She has the best attitude. It's not an easy situation for her. But somehow, someway, I feel like I have laughed more in the last few days while taking care of her than I have in a long time. She has always taught me the way that our Heavenly Father says to - lead by example. And LORD HOW SHE DOES!!!!

We decided to keep the centennial celebration down to a minimum. It was just Mamma, Daddy, my brothers and sister and me. No spouses or great grandkids - just the kids and grandkids today.

I don't know if we'll ever get to have another day like today. We surely haven't had one since Christmas of... I'm guessing... '94. I mean, once everyone started getting married and having children, it seems as if our family has grown into a small village! And even though I have been looking forward to the entire "Stovall Township" getting together for Granny's birthday... there was something so sacred about today. It wasn't very long or fancy. But it was perfect. And I think Granny enjoyed herself about as much as she could have under the circumstances.

She only had one little girl
Granny and Mamma:

But look what that has turned into!

I love the "3 generations" pics:

And then 4 generations of girls:
Gen 1: Granny
Gen 2: Mamma
Gen 3: Stephanie and Me
Gen 4: My 5 nieces - left to right; Abby, Ansley, Bailey, McKinley, Shelby

Yep. Well done, Granny.

I don't think she'll ever understand the influence and inspiration she has had on my life. She's the only grandparent I had until I got married. And she has more than made up for TWENTY granparents! I love you Granny!!!

Peace. Love. and Centennial Fiddles.
