2 Shows, A New Guy, And a Rubber Ducky

I am sitting in a hotel room with all the guys winding down after a VERY long day. The guys are currently giving me suggestions of blog topics (as if a new guy and 2 shows today after a 15 hour drive yesterday doesn't give me enough to talk about). Panther really wants me to write about Matt Hauer and his magnificent beard. :)

Matt is our guitar player for the next week and a half. Matt and I went to Berklee together - we used to borrow each other's Western Civ notes when we lived down the hall from each other. He's played for Van Zandt, SheDaisy, and tons of other great artists. We're really glad to have him out! He's got such a southern rock flare. It's always fun to play with a new player. It keeps you on your toes!

Miguel and his girls are all at home, healthy, and happy (and tired) from the hospital. Miguel is on FULL TIME Daddy-duty! :) I can't wait to meet, Sol. I know he is so happy to be home right now with his family.

Our first show this morning was at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY. It was gorgeous and they had tons of fun stuff going on - inflatable laser tag, rock climbing, free food, good ole southern country music, eh em... that would be me...
It was so fun!

Panther, Matt, and me met a Jimbob in NY!!!! Hope your Beatles presentation went well!

We didn't get to hang out at all though afterwards... We packed up as quickly as possible, and headed out of town. We had a show tonight in Edinboro University, in Edinboro, PA - it was about 4 1/2 hours away! We BARELY had enough time to get there and get set up. We were an hour and 15 minutes later than we wanted to be there... but we couldn't have gone any faster! Amazingly enough, we only started about 15 minutes late - which is really just rock and roll time anyway :) The students were all laid back, though and didn't mind a bit. We were playing their "break from studying for exams" party in their student center. We played there last semester, too.

EU puts us up in the COOLEST hotel! It's more like a bed and breakfast - each room is themed for the months of the year. James and I are in the November room again, David and Panther are in the December room - VERY Christmasy, and Matt is in the April room which is the color of my fiddle amp :) And there was a rubber ducky in my bathroom!!!! And dark chocolate at the front desk. My kind of place. :) Speaking of... I think I'm gonna go work on that dark chocolate.

Night night!

Peace. Love. Fiddle.
